Fannie Kaye Hayes

Fannie Kaye Hayes, a devoted servant of the Lord and cherished matriarch, was called to her heavenly home on April 25, 2024, at the age of 79. Born on May 18, 1944, in the Bodenham Community, she was the beloved daughter of Quinton and Elcie Suttle, who preceded her in joining the Lord's celestial choir. Fondly known as "Big Baby," Mother Hayes embraced the light of Christ; her faith blossomed at Eighth Street Missionary Baptist Church in Nashville, TN, and flourished at Old Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Pulaski, TN. She walked humbly with God, her life a testament to His grace and mercy. Sister Fannie's heart, aglow with divine love, found expression in her tireless service to the church. She led with meekness as president of the choir, shepherded with wisdom as president of the Mother's Board, and nurtured young souls through teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. Her hands, ever ready to serve, were a mainstay in the Women on A Mission and the Kitchen Committee, where she joyfully prepared sustenance for the body and soul. A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 4th,2024 from 12:00pm to 1:00pm at The Old Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church. The Funeral Service will follow at 1:00pm on Saturday, May 4th, 2024 at The Old Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church. The burial will take place at Maplewood Cemetery. She leaves behind a legacy of love and faith through her children: John "Pat" Hayes, Aretha (Jonathan) Bryant, Cassius (Amanda) Hayes, and LaFonda (Travis) Fisher. Her siblings: Claud (Lillie) Suttle, (twin) Faye Suttle, Pearl (Jessie) Roberts, Joe (Sherrill) Suttle, Irene Patterson, Sandra Dobbins, and stepchildren: Athena Benderman, Rotasha Coffey, Latanya Holiday, Keya Hamm and Kizzy Hayes. She also leave a multitude of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, continue to walk in the light of her example. Mother Hayes departure from this earthly realm follows her husband James Hayes and siblings Debra Suttle, Bessie Mae Collier, and Audrey Andrews, who now rejoice in their reunion beyond the veil. A graduate of Bridgeforth High School, her humble spirit shone through her unwavering commitment to the welfare of others. Her life was a living psalm, a melody of compassion and care resonating in the hearts of those she touched. The Bennett-May Funeral Home in Pulaski, TN, is entrusted with the arrangements to honor this faithful child of God, Fannie Kaye Hayes. As we bid her farewell from this temporal world, we are comforted by the knowledge that her soul rests in the eternal embrace of our Creator. Her earthly journey, marked by humility, gratitude, and respect for all of God's creation, will continue to inspire and guide us as we cherish her memory and celebrate the blessed assurance of her salvation.
