Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home Kathleen Stevenson, 53, of Davidson, NC died at home on November 27, 2007 from complications related to a long battle with cancer. She was a native of Pulaski, Tennessee, Ms. Stevenson was born March 15, 1954. She graduated from Giles County (Tn) High School and was a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee in 1976. She also received a Masters in Business Administration from Queens University in Charlotte, North Carolina. Ms. Stevenson worked at Martin College in Pulaski, TN prior to coming to Davidson College in 1979. She served most recently as the Senior Associate Dean of Admission and Financial Aid at Davidson College, coordinating student aid offered by the college. Her professional activities included College Scholarship Service's Financial Aid Standards and Services advisory committee; Vice President for the North Carolina Association of Financial Aid Administrators, and as a faculty member for organizations with supported new collegiate financial aid officer workshops. Ms Stevenson is survived by her parents, Willis and Irene Stevenson of Pulaski, TN; her sister, Alice Ann Stevenson King and husband Rogers King of Marietta, GA; her brother, Paul Thomas Stevenson and wife Pam of Franklin, TN, nephews, Matthew and Andrew Stevenson, and , her feline companion, Zoe Stevenson. A memorial service will be conducted by the college chaplain, the Rev. Dr. Robert Spach, at the Davidson College Presbyterian Church on Friday, November 30 at 10 A.M. Visitation in Pulaski will be held on Sunday, December 2, 2007 from 1:00 until 2:00pm at Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home. Funeral Service will follow immediately on Sunday at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home with Brad Smith Officiating. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Pulaski, Tn. Memorial donations are suggested to the Kathleen Stevenson Memorial Scholarship Fund, Davidson College, Box 7147, Davidson, NC 28035.
