Sara Murrey Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Obit Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home Mrs. Sara Frances Sharp Murrey, of Pulaski, passed away Monday, July 30th, 2007, at Maury Regional Hospital. She was a member of First United Methodist Church since April 4, 1937 and 80 years old. She was born February 20, 1927 in Lewisburg, Tn. and moved to Pulaski, Tn. in 1930. She married W. P (Bill) Murrey, Jr. on December 28, 1948 and they were married 58 years. She was remembered by many of her former students during her teaching years. She was secretary, treasurer of Sharp Motor Company and Murrey Chevrolet for many years. She was a long time associate member of the Tennessee Automotive Association. She was a graduate of Stephens College in Missouri and Vanderbilt University. She was a woman who loved her children and grandchildren and friends. A woman of deep and unshakable faith in her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. She was selfless, uncomplaining, gracious, generous, and loved by many people. Visitation will be 4:00 until 8:00pm Wednesday, August 1st at Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home. Visitation will be 9:00 until 10:30am Thursday, August 2nd at her residence on Elkton Pike. Funeral Service will be 11AM Thursday, August 2nd at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Wayne Davis and Dr. Bill Starnes Officiating. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery. The family suggest memorial donations to, First United Methodist Church, Pulaski, Tn. or the Campaign for the Natatorium at Martin Methodist College. She was preceded in death by her, Parents, Erskine and Ruby Sharp Brother, John Erskine Sharp She is survived by her, Husband, William P. Murrey, Jr. of Pulaski Son, W. Preston Murrey III and wife Pat of Pulaski Son, John Murrey and wife Beverly of Pulaski Son, Ed Murrey and wife Sandi of Pulaski Grandchildren, Sara Katherine Murrey of Pulaski Halle Brynne Murrey of Pulaski Rachel Dunnavant of Arlington, Va. Lyndsey Dunnavant of Medford, Or. Cameron Winterburn of Pulaski Blaise Winterburn of Pulaski Sherrie and Michael Salas of Franklin Tom Parker of Cornersville Michael Parker of Cornersville 2 Great-Grandchildren Sister, Kathleen Sharp Wakefield and husband Corky of Pulaski Several nieces and nephews also survive.
