Mr. Stanley William (Stan) Tompkins age 73 of Athens, Alabama, formerly of Pulaski passed away Monday, November 27, 2006 at his residence. Visitation was 3 o'clock till 7 o'clock Friday at Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home. Visitation was 11 o'clock until 12 o'clock Saturday. The memorial service follows at 12 o'clock in the chapel of Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home with Rev. Matthew Miller officiating. Entombment follows at Giles Memory Gardens. He was a veteran of the Korean War and was a member of the Korean War Veterans Association. He was retired from Fafnir Bearing and SKF Bearings. He was preceded in death by, parents, Howard and Irene Pearce Tompkins, brother, Harold Tompkins, sisters, Nelly Alberti, Gladys Holdridge, and Cookie Robinson. He was survived by wife, Theresa (Terri) Tompkins, children, Iris Stacey and husband Leonard of Goodspring, Tn, Joni Rutherford and husband Dave of Coalport, Pa, Carol Abernathy and husband Jim of Pulaski, Shelly Goolsby and husband Steve of Pulaski, Jim Tompkins and wife Teresa of Athens, Ala., grandchildren John Reicher, Katrina Wilson, Carrie Whited, Keith Bartolatto, David Derryberry, Alex Abernathy, Elizabeth Abernathy, Kristie Luna, Drew Luna, Lacey Tompkins, and Chris Tompkins. 10 great-grandchildren The family suggest memorial donations be made to the Hospice of Limestone County or your local humane society. Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home in charge of arrangements for Mr. Stanley William Tompkins.
